Special Prayer Celebrating Our BDay”

Weekly Digest - Wed, 10 Oct, 2018

Celebrating our annual birthday anniversary no matter the day or month of the year should particularly be a time of special thanksgiving to God, the Giver and Sustainer of our life. It should also be a special time of personal reflection of God’s faithfulness of loving care and blessings and how we are making decisions every day responding to Him. The special time of appreciating God and all He has deposited in our life as well as personal reflection should lead us into the future of increasing faith commitment to being a better person and intimacy toward the person of Jesus, our real role model and example. After all, He would be our final Judge at the end of age to worship and honor with the Father and the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:12)

For us at AEBC, the month of October is very significant not because it is the Senior Pastor’s BDay anniversary, but corporately it is the month of our Anniversary as a Church. One of the our Deacons earlier in the week, October 4, reminded us through the WhatsApp social link. October month at AEBC is also when we engage in the spiritual Fall Revival and Worship Unlimited as our Church Choir lead us in beautiful celebration. By God’s grace we are 31 years old as a congregation planted in this place through the years. Many have been a significant part of AEBC ministry and relocated somewhere else hopefully continuing to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Others are joining the rest of  us who remain from time to time with the Holy Spirit as our enabler. As individuals, families and corporately as the body/church of Christ we ought to join prophet and priest Moses of the OT who God inspired to pen the great Psalm 90. He started by acknowledging, “Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were born or you gave birth to the earth and the world. Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God . . . So, teach us to number our days, that we may present to you a heart of wisdom” (Psalm vv 1-2, 12). Another inspired Psalmist, King David said, “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God” They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds” (14:1). I pray the grace of humility on each and everyone of us to daily acknowledge the sovereignty of God and live to please Him”                                                                                                                                                              Dr. Johnson Omoni
