Many at time some professed believers in Christ tend to think, speak, behave and do things that make one wonder if indeed their faith in Him is secured. Are you sometimes confused inside you about the authenticity of your conversion experience? If your identity is in something or someone else other than in Christ, the solid rock, you cannot but be confused, and probably in the wrong direction! If you are living a double life, one in the open and another in the secret, your testimony would be in doubt.
In the early Church some “believers” continued to live a life of sexual immorality, drunkenness, divisions and choosing favorites and other indications of spiritual immaturity. Among the believers in the Church at Galatia were some others who believed heretical teaching of the Judaizers that they needed circumcision and becoming Jews to be fully in Christ. In our own days and time, there are false claims, rules and regulations that people live up to as if such define who they are in Christ. Some others care less about what their life is showing to others, forgetting they are ambassadors for Christ.
Today, we engage in the quarterly Observance of the Lord’s Supper to help each one of us re-evaluate our standing in Christ with a view to purge ourselves of any sinful indulgence.
“Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith: Examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you – unless indeed you fail the test” – 2 Corinthians 13:5 - Dr. Johnson Omoni
