Beyond the Church Walls

Weekly Digest - Wed, 14 Mar, 2018

Jesus’ mandate for the believers/His followers and disciples goes far beyond the walls of the church sanctuary. This is certainly unlike many Church goers and worshipers tend to think and practice their faith of Sunday-Sunday life-style. Such ones come to Church fellowship every Sunday and that tend to mark the end of their commitment, just to please their conscience but certainly not God in Christ Jesus. Real understanding of faith in Christ and worship takes the totality of our life and practiced wherever, whenever and whoever we are. This is why Jesus’ mandate for us as true believers and fellowship of His Church must take His instructions seriously. The one in Matthew 28:19-20 particularly covers it all: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The individual believer in Christ and the Church must always go beyond our comfort zone, initiating and engaging in all kinds of ministry to minister the mind and grace of God to people everywhere and according to their needs as God gives us the opportunity. As we specially focus on the Ideal Family Outreach, Inc.  of our AEBC in service today, we use this opportunity to remind us all of Jesus’ overarching statement: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me: (Matthew 25:40 NIV).

We are today challenged afresh that we are indeed ambassadors and laborers for Christ daily and in our world. We pray that we are always conscious that our life is and should always be live for Christ and for God’s glory. Thank you for supporting the Faith Initiative Ministry of our AEBC today and always as we may be called upon.                                                                                            – Dr. Johnson Omoni
