We Are Fearfully and Wonderful Made.

How I wished that every human being on the face of this earth could know, admit and actualize the truth of the Holy Bible that describes who we are in the sight of God, the Creator!. In Genesis 1:27-28, we are told, “God created man (generic) in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth, and subdue it . . .” Gleaning from this truth, the Psalmist King David said, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers. . . What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You take thought of him, Yet You have made him a little lower than God, and You crown him with glory and majesty!” (Ps 8:3-5). And in chapter 139:13-14, King David said, “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully made; Wonderful are your works, and my soul knows it well.”

As we all read this thought of God about and toward us, I wonder how we feel! Irrespective of your color, race, nationality or socio-economic background and status, the word of God speaks to each one of us as persons of great worth and value. We are individually special and precious in the sight of God! We live in an evil world where people’s opinion and environment tend to misjudge and demean us as insignificant and seemingly worthless. Not so with God! It’s God opinion about us that we should allow do define us and not the sinful people and environment. As we celebrate the Black History month and emphasis today in service, it is my earnest plea and prayer that each one of us aspires daily to personally seek to know and honor God through faith in Jesus Christ. The more we do so, the more you and I know and appreciate the magnanimity of God’s powerful thought and love for us. And the more through His Holy Spirit we are able to live a truly purposeful, meaningful, and fulfilling life God designs for each of us in Christ Jesus                                                                                .Dr. Johnson Omoni
